Medieval Hammered silver Long Cross coin
Struggling with this coin? Don't get cross!
One of the challenges of identifying Medieval English silver coins is that they often use the same designs on the front and back and it can be very hard to tell them apart. In this case the Long Cross design on the back or reverse of the coin was used for coins of Edward I, II and III during the 13th and 14th centuries. The coins were made by striking blank discs of silver held between two dies.ASK AN EXPERT
