Bronze Age slug knives

Slugs to watch out for in your garden

slug knives_9793

These little flint knives are flat on one side and rounded on the other. Because they are said to look like slugs they have been called ‘slug knives’. Mounted in a bone or wooden handle they would have been the equivalent of a modern penknife. They date from around 2000 BC.
